Dallas Mavericks Power Forward Smiles After Being Ejected
Washington: 'I'm Not Going to Let This Get Me Down'
Washington, D.C. - Dallas Mavericks power forward Kristaps Porzingis was ejected from the game against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night after receiving two technical fouls. But instead of being upset, Porzingis smiled and high-fived fans as he left the court.
Porzingis was first called for a technical foul in the first quarter after arguing with a referee. He was then called for a second technical foul in the third quarter after shoving Wizards center Thomas Bryant.
Porzingis' ejection was a big blow to the Mavericks, who were already trailing by 20 points at the time. But Porzingis said he wasn't going to let it get him down.
"I'm not going to let this get me down," Porzingis said. "I'm going to learn from it and move on. I'm still proud of my teammates, and I'm confident that we can come back and win this series."
The Mavericks went on to lose the game 122-104, but Porzingis' positive attitude was a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing night.
